This variety of quartz crystal contains branching, tree-like inclusions called dendrites. These were formed by iron or manganese minerals that crystallized within the quartz as it grew. Originating from the Greek word "dendron," meaning "tree", these inclusions can be black, brown, or red and are often trapped in the quartz during its formation, creating beautiful, intricate patterns that resemble ferns or trees.
